HobbyPrint® Edible Printer Print Head Insurance = Peace of Mind!

Printer manufacturers are becoming increasingly difficult on warranty when their printers are not used with their own branded inks.They may void the warranty on the print head when using other ink and cartridge types such as edible inks. It is your right to purchase a printer as a specialist printer to use with specialist inks, however, you should do so with an awareness of the potential warranty implications. 

All HobbyPrint® edible printer bundles that we sell, have no modifications and have removable printheads. This feature allows the heads to be maintained or replaced, as needed and avoids the cost of having to replace the complete printer if the print head fails. The main reason for print head failure is blocked nozzles in the print head owing to dried ink.

Edible inks are more viscous than normal inks and HobbyPrint® recommend that you use your edible printer as a general-purpose printer and not just as an edible printer. This avoids long periods of not using the printer and avoids ink drying in the print-head that causes blockages.

However you choose to use the printer, we offer our customers an insurance option, a scheme to cover the costs of your printers print head failing. The cost of this is:

  • £3.99 per month for the first year 
  • £2.49 per month each year thereafter

In the event that the print head gets blocked, we will ask for an email copy of your printers nozzle test and if faulty, we send out a replacement print head. You install it, return the old print head to us and your good to go. Those are the only terms and conditions. 

Oops forgot one condition, if you do not make a claim in the first 12 months, that is after 12 payments, we will credit your account with 33% of the value that you have paid for the insurance and will do so for each subsequent 12 month period. You can spend this amount on any of the products that we sell.
