Printer Warranty

Printer Warranty.
Printers are supplied with a 12 months manufacturer's conditional warranty.

For Brother and Canon printers: Return to Base - The customer is to transport the printer to the manufacturer or an authorised repair agent.

For Epson printers. Return to a service center or agent - The customer is to return the printer to an Epson service centre or an authorised repair agent.

The first 30 days are covered by HobbyPrint® and In the unlikely event of an issue arising within the first 30 days, we handle all aspects of the warranty on your behalf, and should a non-fixable problem occur, an exchange product will be made available at our cost. After 30 days the remaining warranty period is direct with the printer manufacturer.

Beyond the first 30 days, please contact us if an issue arises and one of our technical people will try to assist in resolving the issue. In most instances, we will be able to resolve most issues that may arise.

Warranty Notes.
Printer manufacturers are becoming increasingly difficult on warranty when their printers are not used with their own branded inks. They may void the warranty on the printer when using other cartridge types. Whilst we accept that this is a questionable practice, we will not get drawn into warranty issues beyond the first 30 days.

It is your right to choose to purchase a printer as a specialist printer to use with specialist inks, however, we are asking you to do so with an awareness of potential warranty implications. Our recommendation is that when using a printer as a "specialist" printer, the printhead if installed or the printer should be considered as a consumable item for warranty purposes. We will always try to assist customers with issues.

Printer Firmware Updates.
It is our opinion that it is never a good idea to accept software or firmware updates when installing or using the printer as this may interrupt the use of cartridges other than manufacturers branded cartridges. If a printer is working o/k, why update? who does the update actually benefit?

For clarification on this please contact and speak with us prior to purchase, alternatively please contact and speak with the printer manufacturer.
